Welcome Winter: Track the Solstice, Review and celebrate
December 20, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm PST
Welcome Winter!
This week we’ll focus on welcoming winter in our nature journal and some end of year activities.
Tracking the sun over the Winter Solstice (on Dec 21).
- To set up your page, check John Muir Laws’ tutorial page on Exploring the Solstice and Equinox.
- You don’t have to prep your page for Sunday, we will also talk about simple ways to track the winter
Track changing seasons in your nearby nature
- Start this week, and then periodically over the season.
Reviewing your year of nature journaling
- Track your nature journaling growth over the year. Revisit pages from the start of your year and celebrate how far you have come.
Create an Index to maximize your learning
- This is a great way to review, revisit, and celebrate while creating a way to more easily reference your pages to deepen your learning by connecting related entries.
Bring your ideas on your favorite ways to track the changing season in your journal. How do you use words, pictures, and numbers to document your nature experience?
