Skyward 2: Moon and King Tides

December 13, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm PST

Skyward once more!

Sunday we will look to the sky again. Instead of clouds we’ll talk about the moon, and tracking it’s movements and documenting a phenomenon in the ocean affected by the moon: King Tide.

Here off the west coast of the United States, the coastline experiences two cycles of low and high tides every day. The tides are most extreme on the full and new moons, and especially in the winter. Dec 14 marks the highest of the high tides, or King Tide.

Bring your ideas on how you nature journal the moon, tides, and related subjects!
