Wild Sea otter virtual Nature Journaling trip

August 9, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm UTC+0

What we’ll be doing:

We will learn a bit about a charismatic marine mammal, the Southern Sea otter that lives in Elkhorn Slough, here in the heart of Monterey Bay.

The wild otters are here in high concentrations all year round.

We’ll journey virtually via an Otter Cam to a protected pickleweed marsh popular with moms and pups. And have our nature journals out to practice sketching otters on the move!

Elkhorn Slough Foundation maintains two Otter Cams.

In the event that wild otters are not feeling cooperative during our trip, we will switch to videos to sketch from.

Who can attend?

Open to all. No experience needed.

We meet at 9:30am Pacific Daylight Time, US on Sundays on Zoom. The session begins with an introduction of a topic, then we log off to nature journal in our own nearby nature, then wrap up with sharing our experiences and journal pages.
