What we’ll be doing:
Signs of Spring Sensory Search
Signs in nature are showing us that spring is in full spring!
For this month’s inspiration for Nature Journal CLub we’ll be exploring nearby nature for signs of spring using our senses.
Not just seeing, but listening and touching, And then I’ll show you how to describe, record and draw what we experience.
Please bring your curiosity to explore and share! Until then, I invite you to go out to your nearby nature to practice:
- What signs of spring are nearby?
- What sounds do you hear- and describe them.
- What do you see along the sidewalk or growing low to the ground?
- What trees are bursting with new leaves?
- What about the sky?
- Are there plants with flowers? What colors and shapes do you see?
- Use your nose- smell the plants you encounter and the air, too.
- Find things that are smooth, rough, sticky, hairy and touch them– (avoid poison oak– “Leaves of three let them be”)
When
Start at 9:30 am- end at 11:30am Pacific Time. Schedule:
- Start with an introduction and demo of a topic
- We log off the computer to nature journal outside in our own nearby nature,
- Return to Zoom for sharing our discoveries and journal pages. ***This is THE BEST part- not to miss!!
