Nature journaling Phytoplankton: the hidden world
May 23, 2021 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am PDT
Virtual Sunday Nature Journaling
What we’ll be doing:
Phytoplankton: the hidden world
Despite providing much of the world’s oxygen, phytoplankton remain a hidden aspect of our daily lives. During this class, Dr. Holly Bowers (Moss Landing Marine Labs) brings us this concealed world of unique symmetry, patterns and swimming behaviors. She will explain how some species are considered harmful and how they can impact our lives in various ways. A combination of videos and still photos will reveal the exciting world of microorganisms living within our oceans and beneath the surfaces of our natural freshwater sources (ponds, rivers, lakes). Be prepared to be mesmerized at what lurks in this hidden world!
We’ll dive into the world of plankton with our nature journals!
