Cross-sections as a visual tool for nature journaling

February 28, 2021 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm PST

Cross-sectional views in nature journaling

A cross-section is a tool to visualize a subject and more clearly understand its 3-D shape.

By making an imaginary cut through a section we can see the structure of the object better. It is a cut away view that allows you to see the internal make-up.

Please Bring:

-a fruit or vegetable

-a small cutting surface and a knife

-your journal, pen/pencil, colors

We’ll be exploring the outside and inside of your object, and learning ways to record what you see on paper!

Start at 9:30 am- end at 12 noon Pacific Daylight.

  • Start with an introduction and demo of a topic
  • We log off the computer to nature journal outside in our own nearby nature,
  • Return to Zoom for sharing our discoveries and journal pages. ***This is THE BEST part- not to miss!!
