Learn how
In this two-part workshop, artist and educator
Melinda Nakagawa shows us how to handmake a book
for sketching, journaling, or as a special gift. We’ll be
folding papers and sewing them with a cover to make
an open-spine Coptic stitch binding and Melinda will
show you just how easy the process can be. The book
will be made with mix media paper that works well for
pen, pencil or watercolor. All supplies will be provided.
Thursdays, Dec. 8 and 15, 10am-12pm
Mondays: Dec 5 and 12, 1-3pm
Melinda Nakagawa is an accomplished artist,
naturalist, scientist, and educator. Over the past
20 years, she has worked as a marine naturalist,
researched seabirds and leatherback turtles, led bird
walks, and inspired creativity through nature-based
art classes.
